Can you help Anchor Fund to provide extra resources for students?

Thank you to all the families who donate to the Anchor Fund - your regular contributions make a huge difference to the resources the school provides for the children. The fund enables the faculties to purchase essential updates to textbooks and additional resources to provide the very best educational experience for the students. The Anchor Fund was established in 2001 and has charitable status. It was introduced to provide the best learning experience for students at the school, and gives all parents the opportunity to contribute directly and effectively to the education of their children. The Trustees of the Anchor Fund meet termly to consider grant applications from the faculties, including the provision of curriculum support, the provision of equipment and books for students, and other projects that enhance the educational experience of the students. Parental contributions have helped with significant capital projects, such as creating a hard play area next to the maths block, installing canopies and upgrading the English area and upgrading the Barbirolli Hall.

The Anchor Fund ensures that in a period of reduced government funding the school continues to improve and flourish. The consistency and the generosity of regular parental contributions are an important ingredient in the school’s continued success. The faculties now rely on provision made by the Anchor Fund to maintain the high standards that the school is renowned for. We ask that all families consider donating to the Anchor Fund, so that the faculties can continue to provide the additional resources that make their experience in the classroom and beyond the very best it can be.

Donations can be made in three ways

By a monthly standing order – please complete the standing order form below. Please also sign up for gift aid– we can reclaim 25p tax on every £1 donation made.
Online via Parent Pay - payments can be made when logged in to Parent Pay when paying for trips or lunches.

Charities Week 2025

The halls of 快猫视频 have been buzzing with holiday cheer this week as the annual Charities Week is officially in full swing. As the Autumn Term draws to a close, pupils and staff have united to raise vital funds for three incredible causes: Endometriosis UK, Spread a Smile, and Herts Young 快猫视频less. The school is alive with the spirit of giving, driven by a jam packed ‘Advent’ schedule designed to get everyone involved in the fundraising efforts. This year’s itinerary has been filled with exciting activities, ranging from pupil led lessons and a "Mystery Bucket" challenge to the competitive excitement of the "Elf Auction" and various competitions. Pupils have also enjoyed the classic "Sponge the Teacher" event and a visit to Santa’s Grotto, ensuring the festive atmosphere is matched only by the community’s generosity. Beyond the classroom activities, pupils have been sharing the festive spirit with the wider community. On 18th December, the SCD Senior Choir paid a special visit to Chorleywood Manor Care 快猫视频. The residents were treated to a beautiful selection of Christmas carols, featuring performances by members of the Chamber Choir, Evensong Choir, and the Barbershop Choir. Year 12 pupils Immy and Chrissie noted that "it was a very joyful occasion and it was lovely to see the residents joining in and looking so happy." The success of such a busy week relies heavily on pupil leadership, and the school extends a massive vote of thanks to Year 13 for their incredible hard work and dedication. Their enthusiasm have been the driving force behind this week's fundraising efforts. The week is set to conclude on Friday with the Grand Finale: the highly anticipated Sixth Form Revue, promising a spectacular end to a week of community, charity and celebration.
