Sports update!

The autumn term's District League fixtures got off to a super start for the Senior Boys' football team,  who won 3-0 against a spirited Bushey Meads side. Well done to the team, including Year 13 student Zak, who was named Man of the Match.

There was also a great weekend of football on 15th/16th September when our teams played against Dr Challoner's boys' teams. Approximately one hundred and ten boys represented the school across years 7 to 11, which Head of PE,Mr Birkett, commented was an impressive sight at the start of a new and exciting season.

Further impressive results were forthcoming when the Year 7 A team won their first league game 4-2 against St Michael’s, and the Year 7 B team drew 3-3.

The Year 10 Rugby team beat Dr Challoner's 24-20 in an excellent friendly win, and the Senior Football team won 3-0 versus Bushey Meads in the District League.

Congratulations to all our footballers who were selected for the Watford District squads and who recently represented the district against North Hertfordshire. Well done to Year 10 students,Tom, Oli, Oli, Will and Robbie, Year 9 students Kenan, Benji and George and Year 8 students Joe, Max and Roraigh who were all selected for the district squads.

A great start to the season; we look forward to hearing about continuing successes!

Charities Week 2025

The halls of ¿ìèÊÓƵ have been buzzing with holiday cheer this week as the annual Charities Week is officially in full swing. As the Autumn Term draws to a close, pupils and staff have united to raise vital funds for three incredible causes: Endometriosis UK, Spread a Smile, and Herts Young ¿ìèÊÓƵless. The school is alive with the spirit of giving, driven by a jam packed ‘Advent’ schedule designed to get everyone involved in the fundraising efforts. This year’s itinerary has been filled with exciting activities, ranging from pupil led lessons and a "Mystery Bucket" challenge to the competitive excitement of the "Elf Auction" and various competitions. Pupils have also enjoyed the classic "Sponge the Teacher" event and a visit to Santa’s Grotto, ensuring the festive atmosphere is matched only by the community’s generosity. Beyond the classroom activities, pupils have been sharing the festive spirit with the wider community. On 18th December, the SCD Senior Choir paid a special visit to Chorleywood Manor Care ¿ìèÊÓƵ. The residents were treated to a beautiful selection of Christmas carols, featuring performances by members of the Chamber Choir, Evensong Choir, and the Barbershop Choir. Year 12 pupils Immy and Chrissie noted that "it was a very joyful occasion and it was lovely to see the residents joining in and looking so happy." The success of such a busy week relies heavily on pupil leadership, and the school extends a massive vote of thanks to Year 13 for their incredible hard work and dedication. Their enthusiasm have been the driving force behind this week's fundraising efforts. The week is set to conclude on Friday with the Grand Finale: the highly anticipated Sixth Form Revue, promising a spectacular end to a week of community, charity and celebration.
